TattooFinder.com's Hottest Inked party & contest made it's debut as the official kick off to the 2008 Denver Tattoo Convention: Museum of Skin, Friday, September 19. The focus was two fold: 1) Flaunt it if you've got it and 2) If you don't got it ... fake it, love it, maybe get your own someday. As the online leader in single tattoo design sales, TattooFinder.com has become a significant figure in the industry, as well as an advocate for the tattoo consumer. Whether you're tattoo curious or tattoo crazy, the Hottest Inked party & contest was designed with you in mind — a celebration of tattoo artistry and the collectors who wear it.
Hottest Inked contestants entered to win cash prizes and a photo shoot in the December issue of Inked Magazine, as well as a spot in the Hottest Inked 2009 calendars. Industry celebrity judges — including Lyle Tuttle, the forefather of modern tattooing, TattooFinder.com CFO and longtime tattooist Rachael Bardach, and New York's couture celebrity tattooist Friday Jones — evaluated each contestant for coverage, craftsmanship and aesthetics, ultimately choosing 24 men and women to flaunt their work for Denver-based photographer Katie Andelman. The collection showed off work from every tattoo genre and flaunted personalities that were just as varied — scandalous, reserved, adventurous, bold. They included students, professionals, leading Denver tattooists and piercers, members of the Denver Roller Dolls, parents, a hairstylist, fashion designer, ballerina ... and even a horse-shoer.
After a flurry of media attention and a buzzing calendar release party, a hushed excitement has fallen over Denver. Where will the next Hottest Inked event take place? You be the judge!
